Yes We're Bitter. But Why?

What happened to the message of "Hope and Change"? I think it is dead and BO killed it. His false promises have filled people with sense of doom and gloom, not hope and change. Where is the hope in telling people that they live in a crappy country?
Just think about this, BO's pastor is building a $1.6 million dollar house, with a $10,000,000 dollar line of credit, in a 98% white development. Kind of funny for a men that rants adjust "rich white people".
Some people will ask why does this matter? It matters because, BO used this anti-American, racist preacher to advance his political career. I feel BO didn't attend TUCC for the preaching. He told us all, that he never heard Rev. Wright's offending words and I believe him. But I also believe that BO worked closely with Rev. Wright to gain the street cred to get elected to the State and Federal levels.
What bothers me is that BO used far left pols to move along in the system. The same people that hate our way of life. If you were wondering where the "bitter" remark came from, it came from BO's orbit of friends. The far left looks down on us because we don't understand that they are here to save us from ourselves. So they get frustrated when we "cling to our guns and religion," instead of turning our futures over to them.

State of the Black Church

Have you heard that the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. has been taken out of context? That's the spin that the left-wing spin machine is trying to got us to swallow. That the Reverend Wright is really a good man, and that if you took his sermons in their totality, you would reach the conclusion that he's not a hate filled bigot.

I would grant anyone the benefit of the doubt if what they said was not that own words. If they were quoting someone else and people said that they were theirs. If they were having a bad day and said something out of anger and asked for forgiveness right away. Or if they were being pressured to say something they didn't believe. But none of this is true in the case of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr.

Reverend Wright Jr. is a wordsmith. He crafts everything he says with the precision of a brain surgeon. Nothing ever escapes his lips from the pulpit that he doesn't absolutely wants to say. So the idea that he was somehow misquoted is utterly ridiculous.

At this weekends State of the Black Church conference in Texas the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. was called a prophet by many of the attendees. So now bigots are now prophets. That's great news for the KKK and the Nazi party. Their leaders aren't vile, hate filled, evil racists, their just misquoted and misunderstood prophets. What a wonderful world we live in today. Good is bad and bad is good.

Victim and Victimizers

Austin Hill hit the nail on the head in his article at http://www.townhall.com/columnists/AustinHill/2008/03/30/obama_backs-off_from_his_own_buzzwords. The Democrats love to have class warfare battles. Democratic candidates always try to divide us economically. It's the old trick of divide and conquer.

The idea of there being two groups of people is interesting to me. In the Democrat mind you are either a victim or a victimizer. If you work for someone you are a victim. If you are an employer are a victimizer. That boils things down to there simplest form doesn't it?

So if you work for someone your boss is using you. He's taking advantage of you. You are being abused and beaten down. You are basically prostituting yourself by working for the man.

And as an employer you are pimping out your workers. If it wasn't for your employees you'd be nothing. It's only by abusing your workers is it possible for your company to get ahead.

What a perverted world view. There's nothing positive about this kind of thinking. If there was any truth to this ideology we wouldn't have an economy. Without workers, employers couldn't grow their businesses and hire more people. And without employers, workers wouldn't be able to support their families, buy a home, or own a car.

I'm glad that most people don't buy this kind of populist thinking. But if the Democrats take control of the House, Senate, and White House this fall we could slip toward the socialistic ideology that feeds this victim, victimizers mentality. The danger is if people begin to accept this belief, our economic system could be completely destroyed. America is a capitalistic society not a socialist one.

McCain Looking Fine While Hill and Barack Kill

The following is a response to a post by JD's Handsome Son:

You are right that Republicans shouldn't get over optimistic. But you can't start out the campaign with a pessimistic attitude either. John McCain is going to need to have a broad based message. I know that the conservative side of the Republican Party wants him to move more to the right, but if he goes away from the middle, he risks losing independent voters.

Let's face it, people like Rush Limbaugh are always going to dislike John McCain. If this election gets fouled up it's going to be the right-wing of the party that's responsible. John McCain has a long history of being able to reach across party lines and work well with left, right, and the center. This is where the American people are right now.

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are two of the most liberal members of the Senate. If McCain is allowed to run as a right to center candidate he'll have a better chance in November. But some people on the right keep beating him over the head for working with Democrats. Yet, Barack Obama claims that he's the 'Change' candidate in this race that can reach across the aisle to get things done. But the record shows that he's never done that during his time in the Senate.

You say that there's no fight in John McCain. I really don't know what you want from him. It's way to early in the process to start pulling out the big guns a blast away at the Democrats. Don't you think that Hillary and Barack are doing a good enough job killing each other by themselves? There's plenty of time for McCain to go after the Democratic candidates records, after the Democrats finally settle on Obama or Clinton.

I just don't know what you want McCain to say about Obama since he's not the nominee yet. What's the point of shadow boxing. Now is the time for McCain to get the American people to get to know more about who he is. There's a lot of people that don't know McCain's story. Once Senator McCain gets people to understand who he is, then he'll be able to attack the Democratic candidate.

In politics it's important to define yourself before your opponent does it for you. Right now Hillary and Barack are busy defining each other and you can see the damage its doing to them. So Senator McCain is traveling around the country and introducing himself to people in hundreds of town hall meetings. In the meantime, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are having to defend themselves because of all the negative news that's in the media about them.

So, please don't be so defeatist. The campaign hasn't even started yet. I'm sure that when the time is right the gloves are going to come off, and McCain will do all the fighting that he has to do to win the Presidency in November.

Justifying the Unjustifiable: Jeremaih Wright Jr's Words

If I hear one more person tell us that we have to put the words of Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. into the context of the black church, I'm going to scream. Over the last few weeks I have heard countless apologists for Barack Obama's pastor say, that we have to understand the hurts of the black community. That blacks have experienced a unique history in America, and that's what's driving the anger and hatred that's coming from some of their pulpits.

What I would like to know is, when do you ever get over the hurts of the past? At what point do you give up your anger and move toward healing? What I'm looking for is someone who can move us past the type of rhetoric that 'ministers' like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Louis Farrakhan use to keep blacks and whites from reaching an accord. I know that all of you have heard the words of Jeremiah Wright, so I won't take the time to repeat the vile things that he's said from the pulpit. But since Rev. Wright Jr. insists on using rhetoric like 'God damn America' I would like to know how anyone can put those words in the context of the black church?

Some people thought that Barack Obama was the answer to the hurts of the past. So many people were sitting at Obama's rallies thinking he could bring the racial divide together. But does anyone honestly think that he can do that now? It seems that even when Senator Obama tried to move away from some of his pastors hurtful rhetoric, he just made matters worse. During his own speech on the subject of race, Barack Obama threw his own white grandmother under the bus by saying that she used racially divisive words that made him cringe. As if the private words used by his grandmother were morally equivalent to the thirty plus years of hate that Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. preached from his pulpit. Then to make matters worse Obama referred to his grandmother again by calling her a 'typical white person' in a radio interview.

How in the heck does anyone get away with using the term 'typical white person'? Can you imagine John McCain referring to any black person as 'typical'? The black community and press would go wild. I guess that if you're a black candidate, you can say anything you want when the press is in the tank for you. The bad thing for Obama is that, even with the press giving him a pass when he says racially insensitive things, the America people aren't buying Obama's crap. So Chris Mathews, Campbell Brown, and Anderson Cooper can keep fawning over every word that pours out of Barack Obama's mouth. But the 'typical white' voter is getting sick of the media refusing to hold Barack Obama accountable for his meaningless attempts to gloss over all the ridiculous he says and believes.

Barack Obama: Concerning Racism in America

The following is a copy of a letter that I am sending to the office of Senator Barack Obama.

Senator Barack Obama

713 Hart Senate Office Building

Washington, D.C. 20510

Dear Senator Obama,

For my entire life I have believed that when I saw a black man, I was seeing a man. I have never regarded people of other races as somehow different or inferior to me. I've always felt that at our core all people want the same thing. We all want to live our lives in peace, to be treated with dignity, and to be able to improve our standing in life. And when I became a Christian thirty years ago, I came to believe that when I meet another Christian I was seeing a brother in the Lord. That as a fellow believer, our shared experience with Jesus Christ has erased our racial differences totally and completely.

However, now that the sermons of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. have come to light, I think I need to reconsider my previously held belief. I had no idea that the theology taught in black churches was so different than the teachings that I have been exposed to. I didn't know that there was any such thing as "Black Liberation Theology". I didn't know that the Jesus I believe in had been colorized and divided into a Jesus for blacks and a Jesus for whites.

I guess I should thank you for running for President. If it wasn't for your candidacy, I would have remained blissfully unaware of the divisive and hateful teachings taking place in the "black church". I would have gone through life feeling a false sense of unity with people that at their core hate me because I'm white. That no matter what Jesus has done to bring us together, that race is a gap that God himself can't bridge. That there are "theologians" who don't want to be members of "one Nation under God".

Senator Obama, I don't know if I will ever get over the hurt I feel after hearing the words of your minister. And while you didn't say these words yourself, you remained a member of Rev. Wright's church for the twenty years. And now, you have the audacity to ask me to accept that your spiritual mentor never talked with you about his beliefs. That you had no idea that Rev. Wright preached a hateful and divisive series of messages during years and years of ministry. And that you were conveniently absent every time the Rev. Wright was poisoning the minds of his congregants.

Senator Obama, I listened to your weak kneed excuses for the last several days. I find it insulting that you think I'm so dumb, that I'm going to believe you didn't know the theology that your own pastor was teaching. I guess you want me to believe that for the last twenty years Rev. Wright tailored his messages for your hearing. And that he cleverly managed to keep you from becoming aware of his hate filled, anti-American rhetoric. Seriously, you must think that the American people are the biggest fools on the planet. But the truth of the matter is that I'm not a fool, and neither are the American people. And while I don't know if the current situation will prevent you from becoming the Democratic nominee for President, the words of your pastor are going to follow you for the rest of this campaign.

The sad thing is that it would have been nice to see a true post racial candidate running for President of the United States, but that's not possible now. Your affiliation with a "grievance minister" makes it impossible for our country to move away from the past. I have heard your supporters screaming about all the evils of America's past on the national news. In their minds America is still guilty for slavery, discrimination, and all the activities of a small group of violent radicals that targeted black people in the far south. Now we find that America's guilt didn't end in the past, that our country is guilty for AIDS, crack, and foreign policies that caused 9/11, and a whole host of things that are too numerous to list. So, no matter what America does to heal, people like Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. and his adherents will always make sure the wounds of the past remain open. And you, as a member of his church, are just as responsible for preventing the healing of our country as the people who promote this venomous ideology.

Respectfully,

Response to "I Agree"

Below please find comments I wrote to Adrews comments on my blog entitled Clinton and Super Delegates Go Nuclear

It's nice to know that there's like minded people out there. After reading your comments I agree that the "super delegates" could reach an independent concussion about Obama's electability.

What I'm afraid of is that no matter how they abandon Obama that there's going to be violence. I believe that people are so emotionally invested in Senator Obama that any outcome that doesn't have him at the top of the ticket is going to trigger a very bad reaction.

The bad thing is that the "super delegates" would be acting entirely within Democratic Party rules. The thing that really bothers me about these rules is that even after winning the most delegates and the popular vote the nomination can be taken away from the winner. And they call themselves the "Democratic Party". This sounds more like the Communist Party to me.

I'd like to know what the heck the Democratic leadership was thinking when they passed these rules. How can any party allow one group of delegates to be set apart, and above all the other delegates. Why waste the time, money, and effort of going through the nomination process when all the delegates that you've won can be overridden by party bosses and insiders. The "super delegates" should just come forward now and stop wasting the nations time and let us know which candidate they're going to support.

The problem that the Democratics face now is that, no matter what the rest of the primaries produce Hillary Clinton can't win. Under the apportionment system Senator Clinton can't overtake Barack Obama. There just aren't enough delegates left to win the nomination outright. So the only chance Clinton has is to win the popular vote. This would give the "super delegates" the cover they need to throw the nomination to Hillary.

Up until the revelation of the sermons of the "Rev." Jeremiah Wright Jr. I thought there was no stopping the Obama train. But now that we've heard how that for twenty years Barack Obama sat in the pews of this hate filled preacher, maybe people will wake up from this hypnotic spell they've been under for the last several months.

The question for the Republican Party is which candidate would John McCain do better against? Both the Democratic candidates would present some very difficult obstacles. Both Clinton and Obama are going to play the victim card. Obama's people are going to claim some sort of racism, and Clinton will cry sexism. So McCain people are going to have to walk on egg shells during this whole campaign season.

Thank you for your kind words about my blog. I really do this to blow off stream. I never really expected anyone to take notice of my positions and after reading your posts I see that we have a lot in common. I just hope that we are in the mainstream and not just preaching to the choir.

Below are Andrews comments to my blog:

My one difference from your position is that I don't think it is Hillary driving it.

I think some democratic insiders may actually have independently decided that Obama is not electable and started looking for cover should they go over to Hillary.

After PA and TX, they had that cover, as they could claim that momentum was behind Hillary.

Then came Ferraro and Hillary's mea culpa speech, and that cover vanished.

Now, with this Rev. Wright thing, they may be back in Hillary's corner. It depends on how long it stays in the press, and how poorly Obama continues to respond.

If you are interested, my take is here:
http://andrews.blogtownhall.com/2008/03/14/changing_predici tions.thtml

And my earlier take was here:
http://andrews.blogtownhall.com/2008/03/05/in_the_hands_of_ the_superdelegates.thtml

Essentially I agree with your interpretation, I just think that, though she way benefit from it, not all the energy behind the superdelegate defections is Hillary's. I think some other insiders may be worrying about Obama's chances as well.

And, completely off topic: I have only read two of your posts so far, but I like the blog.

Clinton and Super Delegates Go Nuclear

Anyone who watched Fox News last night and paid attention, should have noticed that the Clinton supporters talking points were about "party rules". This is code for the Clintons using the nuclear option at the Democratic National Convention this summer. What is the nuclear option you ask? It is widely understood that neither Hillary nor Barack can possibly win enough delegates to outright take the nomination. So that's where the nuclear option comes in.

Without the much needed delegates to take the nomination it will fall to the so called "Super Delegates" to make the final decision on the Democratic nominee. Now let's suppose, that Barack Obama wins the popular vote and has more delegates than Hillary Clinton. One would automatically assume that Obama would get the "super delegates" to vote with the majority. But not so fast, because the Clinton's have the party insiders in their hip pocket. And that's when the nuclear option goes into action.

The Clintons are going the claim that Obama is unelectable as the nominee. And that even though Senator Obama won the popular vote, and the most elected delegates, Hillary should be the nominee. That she's the most qualified candidate, and that the "super delegates" should use there overriding power to vote for her. I'm afraid that's just what they're going to do. And all of this is completely within Democratic Party rules and perfectly legal.

The bad thing is that I believe if things play out as I have just described, I'm afraid there's going to be violence. Admittedly, I am against both Democratic candidates. I don't like the fact that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are far too liberal for our country. That Obama and Clinton would pull our nation so far left and that they would not govern where most Americans are politically. But that doesn't mean that I would take any pleasure in seeing the Democratic Party pulled apart. There are many fine centrist Democrats that love this country and want what's for best for all of us. The problem is that the left-wing of the party has grown so powerful that any moderate voices are shouted into silence.

Like I said already, I'm afraid that if the Clinton machine takes the nomination away from Barack Obama, there's going to be violence. I submit to you that the backlash from this occurrence would bring out far left radicals that are just itching for a fight. Just look at the what happens anywhere the WTO meets, the anarchists come climbing out from under their rocks and destroy everything in their path. So, if the Democratic convention doesn't come out just the way certain groups want it to, I think we are going to see civil unrest on a level never seen before in this country. Please don't misunderstand me, I'm not hoping that my predictions are correct. I hope that I'm totally wrong. And I hope that someone gets a hold of the Clinton's before they turn this country upside down by stealing the nomination.

Clinton and Obama at War

Well it looks like the gloves are finally coming off for the Democratic nomination. Today Barack Obama said he's going to start really laying into Hillary Clinton. This is in direct response to Hillary's so called attack ads in Texas and Ohio. I guess the loses in these two primaries have finally given Obama an excuse to change the "positive" tone of his campaign.

I have felt the whole primary process has been filled with nothing but mush mouth rhetoric. The whole idea that you have to be nice to your political opponents is ridiculous. Throughout this campaign Barack Obama has promised that he's going to "Change" how politics works in this country. That the old divisive political discourse of the past are going to be gone. But now he's changing his tune.

So what do we have to look forward to now? I think things are going to became really vicious between Obama and Clinton. I think that over the next few weeks and months all the weak kneed political baby talk is going to finally disappear. And we are all going to get a taste of how these two candidates really feel about each. And I say it's about time. Politics isn't a contest to see who can be the nicest, sweetest, loveliest person. Politics is about pointing your opponents weaknesses and character flaws compared to your abilities and qualifications.

I'd like to know how we got to the point that anything you say about your opponent is seen as a viscous attack. It's about time that the records and positions of these two candidates be exposed by the opposing campaigns and the media. So far both Clinton and Obama have been given a pass. How can you be President in today's world if you can't take the scrutiny and exposure that comes when you run for the most powerful office in the world? Let's face it, Obama or Clinton are going to have to be tested at some point. We have a general election coming up. By the time this election is over all the candidates in this campaign are going to be pulled apart piece by piece. So why should anyone get to escape the process? It's about time Obama and Clinton bring their candidacies out in the open for everyone to examine. There's so much both candidates have been holding back from the American people so maybe now we'll get to see who's really standing behind the curtain.

Conservative Purity Not Fair to McCain

For the last few months, the conservative talk show sound machine has been attacking Senator John McCain. This loud crowd of the yammering class have insisted that Senator McCain just isn't conservative enough. These self appointed right-wing harpies have tried to convince America that a Senator with an 83% lifetime conservative voting record just doesn't measure up to their standards. I would like to know who crowned Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Ann Colter as the arbiters of all things conservative.

I don't like litmus tests. Just look at the disastrous history of all the countries from the 20th century that imposed purity tests towards a particular ideology on their citizens. But fortunately, the good sense of the America people saw past the attacks of a few so called influential radio hosts and chose a Republican candidate that has the best chance of winning in November. These loud mouths from the far right have proven that they don't have the power they thought they had. They have proven themselves to be powerless paper tigers.

So now that we have a candidate that can win, we need to engage the Moveon.orgs of the world, starting today. Let's join together now, to defeat the powerful left-wing forces that have aligned themselves to change America into a socialist state. We are facing a battle for the soul of America. This election season is going to be a knock down drag out fight between the right and the left. I believe this campaign is going to the ugliest election in U.S. history. It's going to take all the efforts of the center/right oriented voters in this country to bring down the powers of the extreme left. Let me encourage you to talk to anyone who has an open mind about the direction the Democrats would take us in compared to the steady leadership that John McCain is offering our country.

Obama Speeches: Words Without Worth

The soaring speeches of Barack Obama have propelled him to be the presumptive front runner spot for the Democratic nomination. The Senator has an innate ability to move crowds to raucous applause. With his amazing skills as an orator, Barack Obama can move people to tears. There have even been numerous cases of people who have fainted while the Senator has been giving one of his enrapturing speeches. There hasn't been a politician in recent history that can work a crowd up in such a frenzy. But what does all this emotion mean if there isn't any substance to all his flowing rhetoric?

When you look back at the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who was fighting the evil of segregation, you can appreciate his need to move people to action. And when you listen to the words of John F. Kennedy, you can be awe struck by his ability to get Americans moved to serve there country during a time of get social change. But what is the great cause of our day? What is so wrong with our country that we need Barack Obama to save us? Are we being oppressed? Are we losing our freedoms? Are the secret police waiting at our doors?

I don't know about you but I don't want Barack Obama and the Federal Government to save me. I don't want the nanny state telling me what to eat, when to exercise, to get a check up, and when to brush my teeth. What I do want the government to do is protect from Islamic extremists, people entering our country illegally, and street gangs from South America. I want the government to make sure the Chinese send us safe products, make sure that shipping containers aren't carrying nukes, and that our products are given a fair shake in the world's market place. In other words, I want the government to leave me alone to pursue my life's work and keep those that would stop me from living my life my way and your life your way.

We don't need some slick, young, freshmen Senator telling us that our country is broken. That our society is a complete failure. And that without him at the helm, our nation is heading to its' ruin. What we need in leadership is someone who understands that hard work and perseverance are the answers to success. Personally, I have found all this talk about Hope and Change tedious and tiresome. Barack Obama's message isn't inspiring, it's depressing. He doesn't build our country up, he pulls it down. His message to us is that America is unfair to it's citizens and that you don't have a chance of ever being anything. That your only chance to accomplish your life goals are entirely dependent on the government helping you make something of yourself.

The problem with the rhetoric of Senator Obama is that it's patently untrue. Our country is filled with millions and millions of people that came from humble beginnings to be extraordinarily successful. The Senator and his wife are prime examples of what America can do for us as individuals. Both Barack and Michelle Obama are living a life that would be almost impossible to have anywhere else. They used their God given intellect and hard work to have more success then I'll ever know. They have had privileges in life I would give almost anything to have had. Yet over and over again the Senator says the system is tilted against us. That we need to have him level the playing field. What ever happened to not biting the hand that's feeding you. My family has never had the chances that the Obama's have had, and we never will. If we make anything of ourselves it won't be because its been handed to us and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Barack Obama Christian or Muslim?

Barack Obama's been under attack for some time now about his Christian faith. Some people insist on calling Senator Obama, Barack Hussein Obama in an attempt to get people to think that he's a Muslim. The implication is that he's hiding his true faith in order to take control of our country only to reveal that he's really Muslim later. This is a mean little tactic. Personally, I would be more comfortable knowing that Obama is a practicing Muslim than as a member of a church with questionable Christian teachings.

The reason I'd rather know that Obama is a practicing Muslim is because of the radical teachings of Senator Obama's church. At least if we knew that Obama was a Muslim there wouldn't be the hidden agenda that we have now. Any serious study of the teachings of the Trinity United Church of Christ will leave any mean stream Christians with extreme concerns about the theology of Obama's church.

If you have any questions about Barack Obama Christianity just Google the Trinity United Church of Christ or the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. The results of even the most basic search will reveal that Barack Obama's church and preacher are entirely Afro-centric. The Trinity United Church of Christ teaches what they call Black theology and Black liberation. A divisive belief that there's a separate theology for Blacks and Whites.

It's fine to have pride in your ethnic background and to celebrate who you are as a person. However, the idea that you are superior to others is totally against everything we've all been taught. And that's where Obama's church is coming from. I don't believe our country would be well served by a President that's been taught that his people are better than his fellow citizens. What ever happened to "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal"? If you read the teachings of Barack Obama's pastor you would be shocked to find that we aren't all created equal. While some can play their little games with Barack Obama's name, I'm going to concentrate on his belief system.

Hope and Change vs. Fear

For months now we have been bombed with a message of hope and change vs. fear. But the truth of the matter is that we are being given a false choice. Of course, we all hope for change in our futures. No one wants to be stuck with a life that stays in a static position. We all want to do better in the future and we want our children to do even better. But if you haven't noticed it, change is unavoidable in this world. Everything on our planet is in a constant state of flux. The question is ,when someone tells us they are going to be bring "Hope and Change", what do they really mean?

Barack Obama is offering himself up as an agent of change and he promises to bring us all hope. However, after being flooded with this message over and over again, can anyone articulate what the end result this rhetoric will be? Exactly what are we hoping to change? Obama says we need to move away from the politics of the past. That we need to learn to work together to fix our nations problems. And he says that he can get the Democrat and Republican parties to reach across the isle to move our country forward. The only problem with this promise is that Obama has no proven track record of doing this. Senator Obama's voting record is totally void of any kind of bipartisan activity. So why would anyone think that he's suddenly going to learn how to bring two opposing forces in the House and Senate together?

Hope and change and fear are not mutually exclusive. We can hope that the fear of terrorism is defeated. We can work to change the climate that breeds young Muslim killers that have caused so much carnage all around the world. But Barack Obama is trying to convince us that if you bring up terrorism you are fear mongering. That we should totally forget about 9/11 and that if we all close our eyes all the evil in the world is suddenly going to go away. In the mean time, we have an enemy that never stops plotting new ways to kill as many Americans as possible.

It will be interesting to see how long this false message of "Hope and Change" is going to last. We don't have to drink the Koolaid. We can go into this campaign soberly, understanding that hope and change are in our DNA. Our nation is the most hopeful place on earth. And we have allowed constant change to be our strength. But if we totally ignore fear, we are fooling ourselves. We can't afford not to be alert. We have an enemy that is a serious threat to our safety. When we are hit again all the hope and change in the world are meaningless.

Right now Barack Obama is being treated like a rock star. He draws crowds in the thousands that hang on his every word. I've heard an NBC reporter state "that if you can listen to Barack Obama speak and not got a tear in your eye you're not an American". Obama is not the first politician to cast a spell over large crowds. But at this time in history, can we afford the cult of personality to dictate the direction of our country? We have to decide what's more important, having a political novice in the Oval Office or having a President that has been tried and tested under the most extreme circumstances one man can face. The choice is yours America. This election is going to set the course of our nation for decades to come.

Hillary Can't Win Against Obama

The course of the Democratic primary season has been an amazing process to watch. Just a few months ago it wasn't even considered a possibility that Hillary Clinton wouldn't have the nomination in her pocket by now. It was supposed to be the Republicans that were going to have a knock down drag out fight to the finish. But then out of no where comes this up start freshman Senator from Illinois and ruined the whole thing.

One of the things that's fascinated me is how thin skinned the electorate has become. During the normal course of any election cycle all of the candidates take some pretty hard shots at each other. But during this primary season everyone's turned into a bunch political infants. It seems that every attempt to compare and contrast one candidate with another starts a whole round of whining that someone's being mean. Give me a break!

Probably the worst case of whining comes from the Obama camp. Senator Obama has taken the politics of victimization to a whole new level. I always thought that the Clintons had a lock on this tactic. But Obama has managed to make every comparison Hillary Clinton makes into a "vicious political attack". I have never seen anything like this before. I don't know how you can run a campaign against a candidate you can't say anything about.

The reason I'm so concerned about election is that in a few months John McCain and Barack Obama are going to run against each other for the Presidency of the United States. The problem is that Barack Obama is a candidate that will take every opportunity to claim he's being smeared. And when you add the racial factor into this election it'll only be a matter of time before some kind of racism claim is going to be used as a weapon. Look at what happened to Bill Clinton in South Carolina. All he had to do was mention Jessie Jackson and all hell broke loose.

I think it's going to take an extraordinary strategy to beat Barack Obama. All the usual rules and expectations are not going to apply in this election. The McCain campaign is going to have to be extremely careful every step of the way. This election is going to be like walking through a mine field. There are groups funded by George Soros that are lying in wait with 20 million dollars in the bank just waiting to attack John McCain. With the left-wing groups so well funded and our current hyper sensitive electorate I'm sure that's it's only a matter of time before someone throws a racism grenade. Once that happens I hope that country doesn't get sucked into this gambit. I believe that if race is successfully injected into campaign season our country will experience the most difficult and painful Presidential election in our history.

Senator Obama talked about on Hannity and Colmes

I am a long time viewer of the Hannity and Colmes program on the Fox News network. When you watch this type of program often I as do, you would think that there'd be a point where you aren't shocked anymore. But I still haven't managed to reach that point yet. It always amazes me how Sean and Allen can just talk past each other. I don't know how you can face someone night after night like these two characters do and totally ignore each other and their guests points of view. All Sean and Allen care about is sticking to their points.

As a example recently, Sean Hannity has been talking about the close relationship between Barack Obama and his controversial pastor. Sean's point of view is that Obama's pastor is a divisive person and teaches a racially offensive theology that most Christians would totally reject. On the other hand Allen Colmes repeatedly says that people shouldn't engage in guilt by association.

So here's my problem with how Sean and Allen are handling this subject. With Sean trying to use this issue as a negative point against Obama, he's causing people to become desensitized to how serious this issue really is. And with Allen using the guilt by association argument he's trying to insulate Obama from people looking into the nature of the relationship between him and his pastor.

I think the guilt by association argument is totally specious. Guilt by association is a legal term. It's used to protect people from being considered criminals just because they know someone that's committed a crime. This term was never meant to protect someone from public scrutiny because of the company they choose to keep. And I think that's why if Barack Obama wins the domination of the Democrat Party all the teaching and beliefs the Rev Jeremiah Wright Jr. will need to be examined. As a nation we need to understand why Senator Obama has chosen to have a minister counseling him that has such an extreme spiritual point of view. I wouldn't be so concerned about this issue if it stood entirely alone, but it doesn't.

When you couple the teachings of Senator Obama's church and with his refusal to wear an American flag lapel pin, his refusal to put his hand over his heart during the National Anthem, and his wife's remark that "for the first time in her adult life she's proud of America". Then add in the extreme Afro-centric teachings of the Trinity United Church of Christ then you can begin to gain some needed insight into how Barack Obama functions. I'm not saying that the Senator is an evil person because of his pastor and church. However, I believe that Senator Obama has a world view that is outside the mainstream beliefs of the average US citizen. And he certainly doesn't follow the teachings of any mainstream Christian denomination. So if it turns out that Barack Obama ends up being our President I hope that's it only after our country understands the he's not some fresh faced kid from Illinois bringing a message of hope and change. We should all understand that Barack Obama is a person that has influences in his life that don't fit into the vast majority of how our fellow countrymen think and live. Please at least take the time to get to know this candidate before you go out and vote for him.
