Clinton and Super Delegates Go Nuclear

Anyone who watched Fox News last night and paid attention, should have noticed that the Clinton supporters talking points were about "party rules". This is code for the Clintons using the nuclear option at the Democratic National Convention this summer. What is the nuclear option you ask? It is widely understood that neither Hillary nor Barack can possibly win enough delegates to outright take the nomination. So that's where the nuclear option comes in.

Without the much needed delegates to take the nomination it will fall to the so called "Super Delegates" to make the final decision on the Democratic nominee. Now let's suppose, that Barack Obama wins the popular vote and has more delegates than Hillary Clinton. One would automatically assume that Obama would get the "super delegates" to vote with the majority. But not so fast, because the Clinton's have the party insiders in their hip pocket. And that's when the nuclear option goes into action.

The Clintons are going the claim that Obama is unelectable as the nominee. And that even though Senator Obama won the popular vote, and the most elected delegates, Hillary should be the nominee. That she's the most qualified candidate, and that the "super delegates" should use there overriding power to vote for her. I'm afraid that's just what they're going to do. And all of this is completely within Democratic Party rules and perfectly legal.

The bad thing is that I believe if things play out as I have just described, I'm afraid there's going to be violence. Admittedly, I am against both Democratic candidates. I don't like the fact that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are far too liberal for our country. That Obama and Clinton would pull our nation so far left and that they would not govern where most Americans are politically. But that doesn't mean that I would take any pleasure in seeing the Democratic Party pulled apart. There are many fine centrist Democrats that love this country and want what's for best for all of us. The problem is that the left-wing of the party has grown so powerful that any moderate voices are shouted into silence.

Like I said already, I'm afraid that if the Clinton machine takes the nomination away from Barack Obama, there's going to be violence. I submit to you that the backlash from this occurrence would bring out far left radicals that are just itching for a fight. Just look at the what happens anywhere the WTO meets, the anarchists come climbing out from under their rocks and destroy everything in their path. So, if the Democratic convention doesn't come out just the way certain groups want it to, I think we are going to see civil unrest on a level never seen before in this country. Please don't misunderstand me, I'm not hoping that my predictions are correct. I hope that I'm totally wrong. And I hope that someone gets a hold of the Clinton's before they turn this country upside down by stealing the nomination.

Clinton and Obama at War

Well it looks like the gloves are finally coming off for the Democratic nomination. Today Barack Obama said he's going to start really laying into Hillary Clinton. This is in direct response to Hillary's so called attack ads in Texas and Ohio. I guess the loses in these two primaries have finally given Obama an excuse to change the "positive" tone of his campaign.

I have felt the whole primary process has been filled with nothing but mush mouth rhetoric. The whole idea that you have to be nice to your political opponents is ridiculous. Throughout this campaign Barack Obama has promised that he's going to "Change" how politics works in this country. That the old divisive political discourse of the past are going to be gone. But now he's changing his tune.

So what do we have to look forward to now? I think things are going to became really vicious between Obama and Clinton. I think that over the next few weeks and months all the weak kneed political baby talk is going to finally disappear. And we are all going to get a taste of how these two candidates really feel about each. And I say it's about time. Politics isn't a contest to see who can be the nicest, sweetest, loveliest person. Politics is about pointing your opponents weaknesses and character flaws compared to your abilities and qualifications.

I'd like to know how we got to the point that anything you say about your opponent is seen as a viscous attack. It's about time that the records and positions of these two candidates be exposed by the opposing campaigns and the media. So far both Clinton and Obama have been given a pass. How can you be President in today's world if you can't take the scrutiny and exposure that comes when you run for the most powerful office in the world? Let's face it, Obama or Clinton are going to have to be tested at some point. We have a general election coming up. By the time this election is over all the candidates in this campaign are going to be pulled apart piece by piece. So why should anyone get to escape the process? It's about time Obama and Clinton bring their candidacies out in the open for everyone to examine. There's so much both candidates have been holding back from the American people so maybe now we'll get to see who's really standing behind the curtain.

Hillary Can't Win Against Obama

The course of the Democratic primary season has been an amazing process to watch. Just a few months ago it wasn't even considered a possibility that Hillary Clinton wouldn't have the nomination in her pocket by now. It was supposed to be the Republicans that were going to have a knock down drag out fight to the finish. But then out of no where comes this up start freshman Senator from Illinois and ruined the whole thing.

One of the things that's fascinated me is how thin skinned the electorate has become. During the normal course of any election cycle all of the candidates take some pretty hard shots at each other. But during this primary season everyone's turned into a bunch political infants. It seems that every attempt to compare and contrast one candidate with another starts a whole round of whining that someone's being mean. Give me a break!

Probably the worst case of whining comes from the Obama camp. Senator Obama has taken the politics of victimization to a whole new level. I always thought that the Clintons had a lock on this tactic. But Obama has managed to make every comparison Hillary Clinton makes into a "vicious political attack". I have never seen anything like this before. I don't know how you can run a campaign against a candidate you can't say anything about.

The reason I'm so concerned about election is that in a few months John McCain and Barack Obama are going to run against each other for the Presidency of the United States. The problem is that Barack Obama is a candidate that will take every opportunity to claim he's being smeared. And when you add the racial factor into this election it'll only be a matter of time before some kind of racism claim is going to be used as a weapon. Look at what happened to Bill Clinton in South Carolina. All he had to do was mention Jessie Jackson and all hell broke loose.

I think it's going to take an extraordinary strategy to beat Barack Obama. All the usual rules and expectations are not going to apply in this election. The McCain campaign is going to have to be extremely careful every step of the way. This election is going to be like walking through a mine field. There are groups funded by George Soros that are lying in wait with 20 million dollars in the bank just waiting to attack John McCain. With the left-wing groups so well funded and our current hyper sensitive electorate I'm sure that's it's only a matter of time before someone throws a racism grenade. Once that happens I hope that country doesn't get sucked into this gambit. I believe that if race is successfully injected into campaign season our country will experience the most difficult and painful Presidential election in our history.
