Clinton and Obama at War

Well it looks like the gloves are finally coming off for the Democratic nomination. Today Barack Obama said he's going to start really laying into Hillary Clinton. This is in direct response to Hillary's so called attack ads in Texas and Ohio. I guess the loses in these two primaries have finally given Obama an excuse to change the "positive" tone of his campaign.

I have felt the whole primary process has been filled with nothing but mush mouth rhetoric. The whole idea that you have to be nice to your political opponents is ridiculous. Throughout this campaign Barack Obama has promised that he's going to "Change" how politics works in this country. That the old divisive political discourse of the past are going to be gone. But now he's changing his tune.

So what do we have to look forward to now? I think things are going to became really vicious between Obama and Clinton. I think that over the next few weeks and months all the weak kneed political baby talk is going to finally disappear. And we are all going to get a taste of how these two candidates really feel about each. And I say it's about time. Politics isn't a contest to see who can be the nicest, sweetest, loveliest person. Politics is about pointing your opponents weaknesses and character flaws compared to your abilities and qualifications.

I'd like to know how we got to the point that anything you say about your opponent is seen as a viscous attack. It's about time that the records and positions of these two candidates be exposed by the opposing campaigns and the media. So far both Clinton and Obama have been given a pass. How can you be President in today's world if you can't take the scrutiny and exposure that comes when you run for the most powerful office in the world? Let's face it, Obama or Clinton are going to have to be tested at some point. We have a general election coming up. By the time this election is over all the candidates in this campaign are going to be pulled apart piece by piece. So why should anyone get to escape the process? It's about time Obama and Clinton bring their candidacies out in the open for everyone to examine. There's so much both candidates have been holding back from the American people so maybe now we'll get to see who's really standing behind the curtain.
